Brussels Beer Factory!

Did you know that there are 3 different ways that beer can be fermented? It can be sealed in a tight container room temperature to make one taste, it can be heated really hot to ferment, or it can be left out in the air - creating a very acidic taste! The different tastes, colors, and thickness of beers come from the ingredients fermented (different types of wheat, whether fruit is added, etc.) how is fermented, how long it is fermented, and how it is bottled! And did you know that a beer keeps fermenting once it is put in a bottle? So the longer it sits, the more alcoholic the beer will be, and the more foam you will have! Foam also come from many factors during the fermenting process, as well as the ingredients inside.
When at the beer factory, we got to see all of the different steps, learn about it, and then do a tasting of our own! This beer we tried was a Brussels specialty of course, and was fermented the third way - out in the open air (the most natural way)! Unfortunately, the most natural way was NOT the most tasty - it was very young, acidic and sour beer! Although I really do not like any beer - this one was especially not finishable. Even the one with raspberries added! My friends forced it down, but I enjoyed the simple taste and then took lots of pictures :)
It was really fun to learn about though - especially when we went into town after and knew more about the 50 different beers on the menu at the bar!
