My 10 hour layover in London
Harrods and Big Ben - my two loves! For only having a 10 hour layover, I did quite well at exploring the city and figuring out the complicated metro system. I went to a cute cafe for breakfast and ate porridge with a big cup of tea while skyping kelsey. And guess what? No tips necessary! Weird! And I walked down the cute stone streets in the pouring rain without and umbrella or anything, but it was worth it! I explored Harrods and it was the most beautiful and best market I have ever been to! There were at least 15 different kinds of pâtés. I also went to Big Ben, which is gorgeous! Plated with gold! And the giant ferris wheel across the river near the aquarium! And I saw the Buckingham Palace - for my last stop. I skipped across the grass in the rain because I only had 3 hours until my plane left back at Heathrow. But turned out I got back with plenty of time. People in London are not very friendly. Here and there I got a conversation going with the people working in the stores, but mostly they did not care to help me, the customer. The bathrooms also cost money, crazy! Almost 2 pounds, like 3-4 dollars, just to use a public restroom! But the food selection was magnificent and diverse and I thought the city was beautiful overall. Definitely worth the stop :)
