the Moroccans pray 5 times a day! The first time is at 4am, then 7am... Before every prayer we would hear (from anywhere that we were) the loudspeaker of chanting to tell all of the people is was time to come pray. They prayed for about 5-10 minutes and always in the direction of Mecca. My taxi was even late to take me to the airport because he was at the Mosque praying (4am!) Women are not allowed in the Mosque, and DEFINITELY not non-Muslims. Therefore, when I naively tried to enter to see inside, I got scolded by someone near the door taking pictures! Learned the hard way with that one!
