Orvieto is a beautiful small town I found on top of the hill - it was only 3km diameter and was up on top of a rockwall. The rock wall was actually a very soft sediment of volcanic rock that settled from ashes of a nearby volcano in 900 BC. It covered an entire Truscan town that is now just being discovered underneath this beautiful Medieval Village. I explored the ruins found below in a "underground tunnel tour," shown in future photos!
